Located in Seattle WA, Sound Media Productions is home to me, freelance engineer and producer, Brandon Busch. Besides being available to work at the studio of your choice, my own studio is a popular and affordable place for independent artists to make great records. You'll enjoy a low-key space full of fun instruments, gadgets & ridiculously cool recording gear. You'll work with someone who can get the good sounds, and help make the record you want to make.
Recently, I was called in to work on Betsy Olson's Lonely Woman Blues, produced by Sera Cahoone (who also played drums) and recorded by J. Kardong of Sera's band. Aside from helping them dial in their initial sounds at Soundhouse Recording, I also helmed the mixes there, and did the mastering here at my place. Betsy has been enjoying rotation on KEXP and college radio stations and is doing well on iTunes.
Artists I work with range from lots of local rock bands, to singer-songwriters, to old-school reggae, to one of the world's pioneering harmonica players, Lee Oskar. The point is, I am capable of working on and enjoy just about any good music, regardless of style or level. I will work to find and show off your sound, not give you mine.
In recent years my work has evolved into doing much more mixing. With so many more bands recording themselves in their basements, most of them still need a lot of help when it comes to doing real mixes that sound the way they really want them to. Recording at home? Find out how I can help.
My CD mastering work has also risen sharply in the last few years, and I absolutely LOVE doing it. I don't quite have the discography of the bigger names in town, but my clients are really liking what I do. Try me and see.
